ADP chairwoman Alexis Tameron released the following statement in response to fellow Catholic & U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar's boycott of Pope Francis' visit to Congress:
"I hope Rep. Gosar sets aside some time to shore-up that glass house he lives in because his reason to boycott Pope Francis' address perfectly highlights the dysfunction in Washington...and coincidentally reminds me of this somewhat timely story."
After a church service on Sunday morning, a young boy suddenly announced to his mother, "Mom, I've decided to become a Priest when I grow up."
"That's okay with us, but what made you decide that?"
"Well," said the little boy, "I have to go to church on Sunday anyway, and I figure it will be more fun to stand up and yell, than to sit down and listen."
"At a time when voters want Americans to come together to solve problems, Rep. Paul Gosar is a acting like a child. This sort of immature approach runs directly counter to Pope Francis' message of human compassion and understanding, not to mention tolerance and respect."
