Arizona Democratic Party Chair Alexis Tameron issued the following statement on International Women’s Day:
“Today, the Arizona Democratic Party celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women in this country and around the world. This organization is proud of the work of its elected officials and individual members fighting on a daily basis for women’s rights and ultimate equality.
“This year, we’ve been asked to adhere to the “Be Bold for Change” mantra, and as the first woman, first Latina to chair this state party, I’m not only standing with empowered women marching in the streets, but I’m encouraging them to run for higher office and fight for equal pay, affordable health care and education, paid family leave, and putting an end to violence against women.”
“There is no doubt we have much to celebrate today, but we still have our work cut out for us.”
