John McCain was ready and willing to answer questions about Britney Spears from celebrity news website TMZ yesterday -- a telling contrast from his recent combative run-ins with the press where he has refused to heed Gold Star father Khizr Khan’s call to stop endorsing Trump and cut off questions about the Republican nominee.

“John McCain continues to show Arizonans how much he has changed after 33 years in Washington,” said Arizona Democratic Party Communications Director Enrique Gutierrez. “Instead of standing with Khizr Khan and renouncing his support for the ‘dangerous’ Republican nominee, McCain would rather chat about celebrity gossip and continue to cling to Donald Trump in a desperate attempt to save his political career. Arizonans deserve better.”

McCain has endorsed Trump more than 50 times, despite his hateful, dangerous rhetoric about Gold Star families, women, immigrants, and even McCain’s service to our nation.
