McSally votes to repeal Affordable Care Act

Also votes to defund Planned Parenthood
Statement by ADP Communications Director Barbara Lubin on Rep. Martha McSally’s Vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act
“Rep. Martha McSally’s vote today to defund the Affordable Care Act shows her callous lack of concern for the 2.79 million Arizonans with pre-existing conditions that would be at risk of being denied coverage. According to the White House, under the Affordable Care Act 2,794,000 Arizonans with pre-existing conditions such as asthma, cancer, or diabetes – including up to 411,000 children – no longer have to worry about being denied coverage or charged higher prices because of their health status or history.

This bill also cuts funding for Planned Parenthood. In 2015 McSally voted five times to defund Planned Parenthood which provides birth control services, cancer screenings and well woman examinations.

For many of us the Affordable Care Act can literally be a lifesaving program yet McSally voted five times to repeal it in 2015.

In 2014 Rep. McSally has said she both wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act and at other times said she wants to keep the “positive changes” in the law. The people of CD2 cannot trust the changing whims of Rep. McSally when it comes to something as important as their health care.”
