Tim Bee acting more like a candidate every day
By announcing that an ex-NRA official is co-chairing his so-called exploratory committee, Tim Bee continues to try game the electoral system.
“At this point, it strains credulity to think that Tim Bee is still undecided about this race,” said Emily Bittner, spokeswoman for the Arizona Democratic Party. “He’s doing exactly what a declared candidate would be doing right now – raising money, lining up supporters, traveling through the district – except that he’s pretending that he hasn’t decided yet. At a certain point, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, you have to say it’s a duck.”
If Bee waits until Jan. 1 to declare his candidacy, he can hang on to his seat in the Arizona Senate, according to the state’s resign-to-run law. If he declares his intentions before then, he has to give up the seat.
