Tim Bee evades disclosing finances to U.S. House

Attorneys for state Sen. Tim Bee sent a letter to the U.S. House of Representatives, rejecting the idea of following the Ethics in Government Act now, which would require Bee to file a financial disclosure statement.

“Tim Bee continues to play fast and loose with the rules. He should know that elected officials are held to a higher standard,” said Emily Bittner, communications director for the Arizona Democratic Party. “If Tim Bee can’t shoot straight about a standard disclosure statement, how can voters trust him about anything else?”

Bee held a high-dollar fundraiser last month for his Congressional campaign, attended by dozens of Arizona lobbyists with major business at the Legislature this session. The Arizona Democratic Party asked Bee in October to comply with campaign finance law to disclose his donors.
