Arizona Democratic Party statement on the State of the Union Address

“Our leaders in Washington must work together to reinvigorate our economy, both now and in the long-term. That means strengthening the housing market, helping keep American families in their homes, improving access to health care, creating green jobs to reduce global warming,” said Maria Weeg, executive director of the Arizona Democratic Party.

“I’m disappointed the President didn’t give us any hope for ending the war in Iraq, even as we’ve reached the five-year mark there with no political reconciliation. We must improve our country’s standing and focus on the real threats from terrorists around the world. We shouldn’t have to wait to elect a new president to accomplish it.”
