Donald Trump is categorically wrong to attack a Gold Star family, and he is unfit to be our next Commander-in-Chief. That was the message that Arizona Veterans delivered yesterday, in advance of Mike Pence’s visit to our state. Though Trump has a long track record of disrespecting our nation’s military and veterans, he managed to hit an all-time low when he insulted the Khan family this past weekend, and Arizona Veterans called him out for it in press conferences in Phoenix and Tucson.

About eight Phoenix-area veterans, joined by a couple community members and an immigration attorney, responded to Trump's comments Tuesday in a media event organized by the Arizona Democratic Party.
The veterans denounced Trump for his "divisiveness" and "un-American statements." A few called on voters and legislators to distance themselves from the presidential candidate.
"It's time for us to hold Trump accountable for the division he has created," veteran and community organizer Tomas Robles said. "This man will literally say anything he can to stay relevant."
