PHOENIX – Today Mike Pence is in Arizona attempting to cover up Trump’s record of broken promises to Arizona Latinos, but this administration’s record speaks for itself:

Trump and Pence are continuing to sabotage health care for Arizonans and jeopardize coverage protections for those with pre-existing conditions.
Trump told Arizonans “I’m cutting the hell out of taxes for the middle class,” but their tax scam will increase taxes on 1.1 million Arizona taxpayers.
Trump and Pence rescinded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and eliminated protections for TPS recipients.
Trump and Pence chose to implement the separation of families at the border – going to the extreme of taking children away from their parents and locking them in cages.
Trump and Pence raided our military’s funding to pay for the border wall they swore Mexico would pay for — attempting to pull $30 million from Fort Huachuca.

Arizona Democratic Party Deputy Political Director Julio Espinoza issued the following statement:

“There’s nothing Mike Pence can say today that erases their record of broken promises to our community. This administration has hurt Arizona Latinos in so many ways — jeopardizing our health care, trying to raise our taxes, spewing repulsive language against us, the list goes on and on. Arizona can’t afford four more years of Trump’s toxic administration, which is why we will vote to hold him accountable in 2020.”

The lawsuit is “throwing the [health care] law’s future into question,” as Republicans seek to end coverage protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

McSally has refused to take a stand against the suit, insisting that “It’s not my role” to stand up to her party and fight for Arizonans’ health care access — even as a new report from the Washington Post explores growing evidence “that it has saved lives.”

“Martha McSally continues to stand with her party’s toxic health care agenda instead of fighting for Arizonans,” said Brad Bainum, Arizona Democratic Party spokesperson. “This just the latest proof that Martha McSally puts the interests of her party leaders and corporate special interest donors in Washington ahead of the state she’s supposed to represent.”
