McSally Tax Law: Billionaires Pay Lower Rate Than Working Families

Under McSally-GOP Tax Law, Billionaires Pay A Lower Tax Rate Than Working Families

“In 2018, the super-rich paid a lower tax rate than the bottom 50%”

PHOENIX — Experts are continuing to evaluate the impact of the Martha McSally-backed 2017 Republican tax law, and, well, here’s the Washington Post‘s headline:

A new study found that because of the tax law, the country’s richest 400 families paid a lower tax rate than the bottom 50% of earners in 2018.

That’s no surprise. At the time of the law’s passage, the McSally-supported measure was projected to disproportionately reward the richest Americans while leaving hardworking families behind.

But Martha McSally voted for the tax law, anyway, and now Arizona working families are shouldering the burden.
