One Week Later: No McSally Action To Stop Raid Of “Critical” Funding

One Week Later: Martha McSally Has Still Done Nothing To Stop Raid Of “Critical” Arizona Funding

“Martha McSally may be unelected, but that’s no excuse for her failure to stand up for Arizonans and fight for our state in Washington”

PHOENIX — As the August recess has come to an end, unelected U.S. Sen. Martha McSally has been back in Washington for a full day, but still taken no public action to stand up for Arizona and stop the Trump Administration from taking $30 million in military construction funds away from Arizona’s Fort Huachuca.

Last week, McSally — who voted to let Trump raid the construction funds — defended Trump’s $30 million funding raid from Fort Huachuca as “small.” But McSally had previously praised the Fort Huachuca military construction project as “critical” and essential to Arizona’s military readiness.

“Martha McSally may be unelected, but that’s no excuse for her failure to stand up for Arizonans and fight for our state in Washington,” said Brad Bainum, Arizona Democratic Party spokesperson. “It’s disappointing to see McSally once again put her party first in Washington and do nothing while the Trump administration raids funding for a project that McSally herself once called ‘critical.'”
