Two Years Ago: McSally Ran On Gutting Health Care Coverage
Highlighted Her Vote To Gut Health Care Coverage
PHOENIX — Two years ago, unelected U.S. Sen. Martha McSally launched her 2018 Senate campaign with an announcement video that highlighted her “let’s get this f***ing thing done” vote to increase Arizonans’ health care costs and gut pre-existing condition coverage protections:
- October 2018: McSally complained she was “getting [her] ass kicked” over her votes to increase health care costs and gut coverage.
- May 2019: McSally insisted it’s “fake news” that she’s changing or evolving on health care.
- October 2019: McSally voted to protect an expansion of “junk” insurance plans that the AARP opposes because they let insurance companies “deny coverage to people with preexisting conditions […] and impose an age tax” for older Americans.
- December 2019: McSally called upon “outside groups” to “start muddying up the landscape” on her health care record.
