The AARP opposes the plans because they let insurance companies impose an “age tax”

PHOENIX — Phoenix’s ABC15 highlighted unelected U.S. Sen. Martha McSally’s Wednesday vote to defend an Republican expansion of so-called “junk” insurance plans.

As reported by ABC15, “junk” plans are opposed by the AARP, because “they charge older Americans higher premiums; don’t cover emergency room visits, maternity care, nor prescription drug costs; the plans also don’t include coverage for pre-existing conditions.”
